Time: 2:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Location: All The Way Up Studio, 2910 Stoner Ct. #6, North Liberty IA 52317 (Google Maps)

The Rape Victim Advocacy Program and All The Way Up Studio are proud to partner up during Sexual Assault Awareness Month to provide a free dance workshop for survivors. They will also learn how to integrate the use of props, like chairs and bandanas, in their movement (these items will be provided by the studio). No previous dance experience is required. Instructors will guide participants through empowering dance techniques, teach a short routine, and allow time at the end of the workshop for participants to independently or collectively play with some of the things they learned. Participants are asked to bring a pair of clean, comfortable shoes or they may dance in socks or barefoot.

Advocates will be available during and after the workshop.

Pre-registration for this event is required and the class will be limited to 15 participants. To register, or if you have any questions about the event, please contact Ashley Lindley at

Moving Toward Wholeness

Four-week series on Mondays: April 4, 11, 18, 25. 7 p.m.- 8:15 p.m.
At RVAP, 108 River St. Iowa City, IA

Moving Toward Wholeness is a guided dance/movement experiential four-week series for those who have experienced trauma and are looking for a trauma-informed caring space to explore their ongoing healing. Participants will use free-form dance/movement, a modality that encourages following one’s personal body rhythms (not steps to a routine), with a reflective inward focus to explore key topics of Safety, Resilience, Transformation, and Integration.

There will be a guiding structure for each class, with a goal of individual exploration, as well as an opportunity for some sharing. No previous dance experience necessary. All bodies and identities welcome. The class will be taught by Adina Levitt, MSW graduate student; RVAP staff Venissa White will also support participants on site. There is no cost for this four-week series.
