We are all in the midst of responding appropriately to the COVID-19 pandemic as it spreads in our communities.  At RVAP, we are committed to doing our part in keeping our communities safe.  We remain committed to serving victims/survivors of sexual violence seamlessly even as we strive to keep ourselves safe and in good physical, emotional, and mental health.

As a result of the State of Iowa Public Health Disaster Emergency issued by Iowa Governor Reynolds on March 17, 2020, the Rape Victim Advocacy Program (RVAP) be working remotely at this time. Our physical office will be closed during this time, but our services are still present. With this in mind, the services provided by our office will not change in substance, but will change in delivery:

• We will continue to provide telehealth emergency crisis response to local hospitals and law enforcement offices.
• We will continue to answer calls and respond to emails as well as work on supporting the community through online meeting options (e.g., phone, Skype, Zoom, etc.).
• People looking for immediate support can still call our 24-hour support line at 319-335-6000 or 800-228-1625 to speak with an advocate.
• If you have previously worked with an RVAP advocate and are looking to get in touch with that specific advocate, please call our 24-hour crisis line and ask to speak with your advocate or get a message relayed to them. 
• We have established and are continuing to update a page of COVID-19 pandemic resources.

Please understand that due to this shift in the way we deliver our services, there may be some delays in response.
