RVAP currently has two volunteer training tracks: direct service (in-person advocacy) and rural (volunteering in Cedar, Iowa, Des Moines, Henry, Lee, Washington, and Van Buren counties).

All prospective volunteers attend a training that focuses on understanding sexual assault dynamics, best practices in working with survivors, skill building, and related administrative functions.

Training will be offered on a rolling basis based on volunteer interest. You must be present for all training dates.

If you have questions or need more information, contact Maria Bruno, Psy.D., executive director of belonging and inclusion.
